KTET
The Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test determines the eligibility of the candidates possessing adequate skills to teach in the classes of lower primary, upper primary, and high school in the state of Kerala. The exam is conducted as per the guidelines mentioned in the State Council of Educational Research and Training, or SCERT, as well as the regulations put forth by the National Council for Teacher Education, NCTE, the Department of General Education, and the Government of Kerala.
The Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test is an examination conducted by the Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan to assess the eligibility of candidates for teaching in schools in the Indian state of Kerala. This exam is mandatory for all candidates who wish to apply for teaching jobs in Kerala government schools, aided schools, and unaided schools.
The Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test is conducted twice a year, in March and September.
The exam is divided into four categories:
Each category of the exam consists of two papers
Paper I is for candidates who wish to teach at the lower primary level.
Paper II is for candidates who wish to teach at the upper primary level and the high school level.
Each paper of the exam consists of 150 multiple-choice questions. The questions are based on the following topics:
- Child development and pedagogy
- Language I (English or Malayalam)
- Language II (English, Malayalam, Hindi, or Sanskrit)
- Mathematics
- Environmental studies
