The Kerala Public Service Commission is a body created by the Constitution of India. The Kerala PSC exam is conducted to recruit candidates for various government posts such as Deputy Collector, Assistant commissioner, Fire and rescue officer, Account officer, Matron, Staff Nurse, Medical officer, Assistant professor, Computer Assistant Grade II, and many other. Exams are conducted regularly by the commission. Some of these tests require just matriculation as an essential education qualification while some others require diploma, graduation or post-graduation. Some of the exams are conducted for the posts of Legal Metrology inspector, LP UP Teacher, Dairy Farm Instructor, HSST, Junior Lab Assistant, HSA/HST, etc.
For some posts, the Kerala PSC selection procedure is done in three phases, Phase 1: Preliminary Exam, Phase 2: Mains examination & Phase 3: Interview.

The Kerala PSC recruitment process is generally as follows:
- The KPSC publishes a notification in the Kerala Government Gazette and on its website inviting applications for the post(s) to be recruited.
- Eligible candidates submit their applications online or by post.
- The KPSC conducts a preliminary examination to shortlist candidates for the main examination.
- The KPSC conducts a main examination, which is more comprehensive than the preliminary examination.
- The KPSC conducts an interview of the shortlisted candidates from the main examination.
- The KPSC prepares a ranked list of candidates based on their performance in the main examination and interview.
- The KPSC recommends candidates from the ranked list to the Kerala government for appointment to the post(s).
