Kerala PSC Sub Inspector Eligibility Criteria 2024:

The Public Service Commission has a set of criteria for short-listing suitable candidates for the post of researcher. All applicants must ensure that they meet all requirements set by the Commission. Applications from applicants who do not meet the criteria will be rejected.

Age limit

Category – I        (Open Market) – 20-31 : Only candidates born between

                             02.01.1993 and 01.01.2004 (both dates included).

Category – II        (Ministerial) – Should not have completed 36

                              (Thirty six) years of age as on 01.01.2024.

Category – III      (Constabulary) – Should not have completed

                              36 (Thirty six) years of age as on 01.01.2024

[Relaxation in upper age limit as per para 2 of the Part II General conditions, is applicable for all the three categories.]

Any Degree in any faculty from a recognised University or its equivalent

Note 1: Rule 10 (a) (ii) of Part II of KS & SSR is applicable.

Note 2: In addition to the qualification specified in the Notification, the qualifications declared by Government through executive orders or standing orders, as equivalent to the prescribed educational qualification and the higher qualifications of the notified and prescribed basic qualifications shall be accepted. The Government Order regarding the equivalent qualification/higher qualification shall be produced as and when called for by the commission.

Note 3: In the case of difference in original caste/community claimed in the application and that entered in SSLC book, the candidate shall produce a gazette notification in this regard along with Non creamy layer certificate/Caste certificate issued by the competent revenue authority, at the time of certificate verification.

Physical Qualification

Candidates should be physically fit. Candidates should possess minimum physical standards as prescribed below.

(a)   Male Candidates

Height:                                     165.10 cm

For SC/ST Candidates:         160.02 cm

Chest Measurement:             81.28 cm

Chest Expansion:                    5.08 cm

Note: No relaxation will be allowed to SC/ST candidates in the matter of chest measurement and chest expansion

(b)  Female Candidates

Height:                                   160 cm

For SC/ST Candidates:       155 cm

Note: Taller persons may be given preference.

(c)   Both the male and Female candidates must be certified to possess the visual standards specified without glasses.

Note:

1) Each eye must have a full field of vision.

2) Colour Blindness, Squint or any morbid condition of the eyes or lids of either eye shall be a disqualification.

3) Candidates must be free from apparent physical defects like Knock-knee, Flat Feet, Varicose veins, Bow legs, Deformed limbs, irregular and protruding teeth, defective speech and hearing.

(d) Candidates should produce a medical certificate in original at the time of physical efficiency test/certificate verification in the form prescribed hereunder certifying to their physical fitness and eyesight without glasses obtained from a Medical Officer not below the rank of a Civil Surgeon. 

Sub Inspector Selection Process:

Recruitment from the above three categories will be made on the basis of a competitive test.

  1. Preliminary OMR Test (Degree Level Preliminary Exam) – 100 Marks
  2. Sub Inspector Mains Exam – 100 Marks
  3. Physical Efficiency Test

(a)   Physical Efficiency Test for Male Candidates

Male Candidates must qualify any of the five events out of the eight specified below in the National Physical Efficiency Test of one star standard (as per G.O.(Ms) No.104/88/Home dated 20.08.1988)

(a)   Physical Efficiency Test for Female Candidates

Female Candidates should qualify in any five events out of the eight specified below in the National Physical Efficiency Test of One Star Standard. (As per G.O. (P) No. 65/2009/Home dated 25.05.2009) 

 

Kerala PSC Sub Inspector Application Process – How to Apply:

      Candidates should go through the official notification to ensure that they satisfy all the criteria laid by the Commission.

      Applications must be submitted online through the official website of the Commission – keralapsc.gov.in

      Applicants must first register through One Time Registration.

      Once registration is done, candidates can proceed to apply online. Those who have already registered can skip the registration process.

      Candidates who have an Aadhaar card should add Aadhaar card as I.D proof in their profile.

      Login using your user ID and password.

      Click on the ‘Apply now’ button of the notification regarding Sub Inspector recruitment.

      Fill all the details carefully and upload the photo and other required documents. The name of the candidate and the date of the photograph taken should be printed legibly at the bottom portion. The photograph uploaded should be taken within 10 years. In the case of candidates who are creating a new profile the uploaded photograph must be taken within 6 months. The photograph once uploaded meeting all requirements shall be valid for 10 years from the date of uploading.

      Candidates are responsible for the correctness of the personal information and secrecy of password. Before the final submission of the application on the profile candidates must ensure correctness of the information in their profile. Application submitted is provisional and cannot be deleted or altered after submission. However, the applications can be rejected if any noncompliance with the notification is found during the processing stage.

      If an OMR/Written/Online Test is conducted as part of this selection, candidates should submit a confirmation for writing the examination through their One Time Registration profile. Such candidates alone can generate and download the Admission ticket. The application of candidates who do not submit confirmation within the stipulated period, will be rejected.

Documents Required

Advice to Upload a Photograph
  • The photo to be uploaded can be in Color/ black and white.
  • The face and shoulder of the candidate should be clearly visible.
  • Photo should be of 200 pixels height and 150 pixels width.
  • The file size should not exceed 30kb and it should be in JPG format.

Salary 

Candidates recruited for the post of Sub Inspector will be paid a handsome monthly salary of ₹ 45,600-95,600 /-. In addition to the monthly salary, the employees of Kerala Government Organizations are entitled to allowances like Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Traveling Allowances etc. as per the guidelines of the Commission.
